To facilitate quality education at affordable cost, SCCZ makes every effort possible to route the available governmental and corporate scholarships and stipends to eligible Claretines. It has also instituted its own merit and financial awards, as well as scholarships and endowments through the generosity of several benefactors.

Eligibility Rules

All scholarships are meant for regular students in "good standing" (see the Handbook for the definition).
An actual attendance record of 75% at any time of the academic year is absolutely mandatory for every scholarship.
Each scholarship has its own additional eligibility conditions — check the relevant website (govt. scholarships) or await the college announcement (college-related scholarships).
No student shall falsify information in order to avail of these scholarships.
No student shall apply for or claim more than one stipend/scholarship at the same time.
Awardees must have a savings bank account (Canara Bank or State Bank) for disbursement.

A. Government

Government Scholarships

APST Stipend Source: Department of Higher & Technical Education, Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh Amount: Up to ₹16,000 annually (varies by marks in previous exam) Recipients: All eligible tribal students of Arunachal Pradesh, in good standing

Ishan-Uday Scholarship Source: University Grants Commission (UGC) Amount: Up to ₹64,800 annually for the entire course duration (10,000 slots) Recipients: Students with domicile in the Northeast, meritorious and in good standing

B. Non-Government

SCCZ & Endowed Scholarships

Arunachal Times Media Scholarship Source: The Arunachal Times Amount: ₹25,000 each for two years Recipients: B.A. Mass Communication student in good standing

SCCZ Residential Scholarships Source: SCCZ endowments Amount: ₹15,000 each (3 slots, one per year of study) Recipients: Financially challenged / differently-abled students in good standing

SCCZ Academic Scholarships Source: SCCZ endowments Amount: ₹7,500 each (3 slots, one per year of study) Recipients: Financially challenged / differently-abled students in good standing

Single Step Foundation Scholarship Source: Single Step Foundation, USA (MoU with SCCZ) Amount: Up to ₹3,000 (max. 50 slots) Recipients: Financially challenged female students in good standing

Saju-Bindu Scholarship Source: Endowment from Saju Manuel Muthumakuzhy & Family Amount: ₹4,000 Recipients: Financially challenged / differently-abled students in good standing

Gigi-Mini Scholarship Source: Endowment from Gigi Veliyannoor & Family Amount: ₹4,000 Recipients: Financially challenged / differently-abled students in good standing

Fr. Tomy Scholarship Source: Endowment from Rev. Fr. Tomy E., founding manager of SCCZ Amount: ₹4,000, shared by two students Recipients: Two toppers in I Semester (End-Semester Exam)

Edacheriparampil Mathew-Elizabeth Memorial Scholarship Source: Rev. Fr. Tomy E., in memory of his late parents Amount: ₹4,000 each (two slots) Recipients: Financially challenged II/III year hostellers in good standing

SCCZ Awards Source: SCCZ endowments Amount: ₹1,000 – ₹2,000 each Recipients: Toppers in each year / major subject in the ESE

Smt. Habung Pappu Memorial Award Source: Shri Habung Lampung and Family Amount: ₹4,000 Recipients: Topper in First Year Undergraduate Programme

Dani Tabin Yaniya Memorial Award Source: Shri Dani Gamboo Amount: ₹10,000 with a memento and citation Recipients: Topper from SCCZ in the three-year Undergraduate Degree programme

Theresiakutty Memorial Scholarship Source: Endowment from Solly & Soy Joseph Kizahakkel Amount: ₹4,000 Recipients: Financially challenged / differently-abled students in good standing

Nirmala Frank Scholarship Source: Endowment from Frank Xavier, Ohio, USA Amount: ₹17,500 Recipients: Financially weak students in good standing

Tiny Miracles Trust Scholarship (APST Students) Source: Tiny Miracles Trust, Chennai, Tamil Nadu Amount: ₹14,000 per student (5 APST students) Recipients: Financially weak APST students in good standing

Further Details on the APST Stipend

The Government of Arunachal Pradesh provides an academic stipend for eligible APST students who pass the qualifying examination on a regular basis. This is a purely governmental provision, administered through the Department of Higher & Technical Education (DHTE).

Criteria set by the Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh

Student must be a bonafide regular student of the Institution, must have cleared the lower examination, and must be regular for classes (late college students do not qualify).
Student must fill up the application forms (available from the College Office) and submit them in time with all required documentation — any error may result in rejection by the Government.

The decision to grant or not grant the stipend rests with the DHTE. On approval, the College will display the awardee list on the Bulletin Board and transfer the amount to each approved student's bank account. Errors in submitted bank details are the student's responsibility, and any wrong transfer by the bank must be resolved directly with the bank. Grievances regarding approval, non-approval, or delay of the stipend must be raised with the DHTE in person or by email at dhearunachal@rediffmail.com.
